The Story Behind
Chicken Ati-Atihan ranks among the fastest franchise
chain in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. Conceptualized in 2003,
Aries Christopher Alvarez, a veteran medical sales representative
from Abbott Pharmaceuticals resigned from the resto business he was
managing in Roxas. Mr. Alvarez and his aunt couldn’t agree on
certain management issues that compelled him to develop a carenderia
in Capiz, not knowing he had accidentally found his fate that would
open doors to business opportunities.
With the support from his mother-in law Alicia and wife Janet the
young Alvarez added a chicken specialty in his carenderia menu
renovated the place fit for the concept and then coined
ati-atihan after witnessing the spectacular festival in Kalibo,
Aklan. No sooner, did his old friend Louie Tijing who was on a
business trip to Boracay happened to taste his new recipe. Mr.
Tijing spell bound by the pleasant taste of the chicken meal,
thought too that the metaphor of a festival dance seemed to play on
his taste buds. He could not wait that he invited Mr. Alvarez to
visit Bayawan City, Negros Oriental to establish another outlet.
With the vision of creating a franchise business, Tijing and his
other friends Jack Raymond together with Congressman Henry Pryde
Teves became interested.
With Mr. Alvarez’ strong sales portfolio and marketing background
turned Chicken Ati-Atihan a spotlight in the franchise industry. As
a growing corporation, the company has branched to more than 30
outlets nationwide in a span of five years. Being a franchiser and
CEO of Chicken Ati-Atihan, Mr. Alvarez travels extensively to visit
the franchise outlets, making sure every chicken house is well
managed. Today with more than 50 franchise outlets nationwide it has
proven that even in small Cities and municipalities Chicken
Ati-Atihan can excel because of its great authentic taste of the
chicken and the food short orders behind it.
He
says with a smile, "Our chicken barbeque is not only delicious on
the outside, but also in the inside. It's marinated through a
quality standard procedure and perfected its taste from the splash
of its sauce that will surely turn your meal into feast." That’s why
in Chicken Ati-Atihan we didn’t invent chicken barbecue, we
perfected it!.
